OSHA Background Screening Policy
OSHA has implemented an online background screening program in partnership with Verified Volunteers. All coaches (head and assistants), managers and other individuals who have "regular and routine" access to children (anyone under the age of majority) must consent to be screened through Verified Volunteers and complete the screening process. Further, it is OSHA’s policy that all member associations affiliated with OSHA adopt this Screening Policy as a condition of their affiliation.
All coaches, managers and other individuals required to be screened must complete the Verified Volunteers screening process by September 30 of the current playing season. Any individual who begins an activity after September 30 of the playing season that would require the individual to be subject to the OSHA Screening Policy must complete the screening process within three (3) days after beginning such activity.
A list will be published in this section of the OSHA site of all Coaches, Managers and other individuals who have complied with the OSHA Screening Policy.
Any Coach, Manager or other individual who is required to be screened per OSHA’s SCREENING POLICY who continues to coach, manage or otherwise participate in any OSHA activities without the proper screening certification will be referred to the OSHA Disciplinary / Dispute Resolution Committee for appropriate action.
