Congratulations to our 12U and 14U CHAMPIONS.
Both teams won their divisions at the Angels on Ice tourney in Langley, BC.
The U12 Dev team had a great time at the Langley tournament.  Our performance on the ice was impressive, going 3-0-1 in prelim games and then winning the next two games to win the tournament.  While we were successful on the scoreboard, we were more successful in spreading the joy of the sport. We defeated Abbottsford and Langley 8-0 and 12-1 respectively.  Despite these defeats both teams congratulated our girls on their sportsmanship and kind words of support.  Returning the gift of support, both teams showed up for the championship game to cheer for the Rose City Royals. The athletes of the 12U RCHC were model ambassadors for Portland, Rose City Hockey Club and Girls Hockey in Langley, BC.

The U14 Dev Team recently traveled to BC for our first tournament this season. We went 1-2 in group play, fighting hard in each game but losing 4-3 to both Cowichan and the host team, Langley. With only ten skaters, we pushed through a short bench and tired legs to defeat Cowichan in the the Semifinals and play Langley again, for the Championship. We defeated the host team 5-0 in the final, winning every shift. We are proud of them for playing hard and demonstrating all the great characteristics of champions -- good sportsmanship & great teamwork.
